Role Overview
The role will encompass all aspects of concept design, documentation, contract administration, quality control, project management, and client negotiation and management. The Project Leader is required to work with Partners, Associates and other team members to manage the design concepts that are developed for a project and protect and sustain them through the project stages until the project is finalised. This role involves a high degree of responsibility for the project team, for client and consultant relationships, and for overseeing a project from inception through to completion. This role forms an integral part of our team and our Partnership, and requires working collaboratively with others, together with a strong sense of initiative, accountability and focus to achieve our Practice's mission 'to design places where people and communities can thrive'. Responsibilities
- Lead complex architectural projects from inception to final delivery, independently guiding teams.
- Manage resources, budgets, schedules, and relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Perform site investigations to collect and interpret data for design development.
- Prepare architectural designs, documentation, specifications, and progress reports aligned with project goals.
- Define scope and requirements with engineers, ensuring robust project coordination.
- Advise clients on project scope, modifications, and solutions for effective project delivery.
- Review requests, provide expert recommendations, and manage change orders.
- Conduct periodic and final inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working on Seniors Living & Care projects or Residential Projects is required.
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices, procedures and theory of architecture.
- Demonstrated excellence in leadership and strategic project/team management skills.
- Ability to align project tasks and team orientation with the strategic goals of the practice.
- Ability to express ideas effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with co-workers, clients, sub-consultants, and technical experts.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of architectural and administrative software, including AutoCAD / Revit, Google SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Accredited Bachelor/Masters qualification in relevant discipline.
