The Academy of Interactive Entertainment is Australia's most awarded 3D Animation, Game Design and Visual FX educator based in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Online, with a reputation for delivering high quality vocational and higher education.

AIE is looking to employ a System Administrator & IT Support team member to provide second point of contact support for AIE's Information Technology systems. The role encompasses providing face-to-face and remote technical support across Australian and US operations, with occasional trips to Sydney/or Canberra based from our Canberra or Sydney campus.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Provide support and maintenance across applications, networking, cloud and on-premise server infrastructure.
  • Provide hardware support including troubleshooting, replacing and upgrading desktop and server components.
  • Escalate complex issues to seniors when required after performing detailed troubleshooting.
  • Participate in the after-hours support rotation after suitable onboarding.
  • Work within a ticketing system with incident, service requests and maintaining, creating and update documentation.

Requirements:

  • A passionate attitude for IT, gaming and movies. A suitable position for someone with 2-3 years' experience in the IT industry and wanting to continue in a Systems role.
  • Strong technical knowledge across Microsoft, networking and virtualisation technologies.
  • Great customer service and excellent English communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong root cause analysis, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Values ongoing learning and development.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude.

Desired & Standout Skills

  • Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Intune/MDM, Microsoft 365, VMware vSphere or Proxmox.
