HD Mechanic – Mining and Earthmoving Equipment

Location: Henderson

Rate: $75 per hour + super (depending on experience)

Hours: Approx. 50–60 hours per week

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic for a position South of the River. This role involves maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a broad range of surface mining and earthmoving equipment, predominantly based out of the team's workshop in Henderson. Please note you will also need to travel to site approximately 4–5 days per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Work on a diverse fleet including dozers, excavators, graders, etc.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard

Requirements:

  • Trade-qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic (Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years post-trade experience working on heavy earthmoving and mining equipment
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems
  • Experience with surface mining and earthmoving equipment highly regarded
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team
