Position: Program Accountant

Salary: Stream A, Level 7 from $112,793.91/ year + Super

Location: 150 Wembley Road, Logan Central

Duration: Fulltime, Permanent

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for financial reporting and stakeholder engagement? Logan City Council is seeking a Program Accountant to lead organisational wide financial management reporting and support key business initiatives through expert financial analysis and advice.

As a Program Accountant, you will:

• Lead the monthly financial reporting process across the organisation.

• Manage the Local Infrastructure Program, ensuring compliance and transparency.

• Provide high level financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision making.

• Present complex financial concepts in a clear, actionable manner to a range of stakeholders.

• Mentor and lead a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.

What You'll Bring

• Extensive experience in financial management reporting in a medium to large organisation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a technical financial environment.

• Proven ability to manage projects and meet critical deadlines.

• Advanced skills in financial systems such as Finance One, SAP, or Oracle.

• Demonstrated expertise in preparing and interpreting complex financial reports and budgets.

• Leadership capability, including mentoring, coaching, and performance planning.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships across all levels.

• A degree in Business or Accountancy (essential), with CPA/CA membership (desirable).

• A current "C" class driver's licence and the ability to pass employment related background and police checks.
