Role Description

This is a Casual role for a Disability Support Worker, located in Belfield Sydney. The Disability Support Worker will provide tailored and compassionate assistance to individuals with disabilities, focusing on daily living, personal care, community engagement, and promoting independence. Key responsibilities include fostering positive relationships, adhering to safeguarding protocols, and delivering services in alignment with participants' NDIS plans to ensure their well-being and quality of life.

The participant is Chinese, non verbal and requires constant supervision. Initially we are looking for 2 x 4 hour shifts per week however there is an opportunity to increase this to 25 plus hours per week.

We are seeking a person of Asian background with an understanding in Asian culture

Qualifications

  • Experience in support worker roles and a strong understanding of participant-centered care.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with participants.
  • Knowledge and application of safeguarding principles to ensure the safety and well-being of participants.
  • Basic technical support skills for managing participant documentation and NDIS-related systems.
  • Minimum certificate III or IV in disability services, community care, or a related field are advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently as required.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications
  • A valid driver's license and a road worthy vehicle are mandatory for this position
