Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Proclinical Staffing Full time $60,000 - $120,000 per year

Proclinical is seeking 2 x Quality Control Technicians on a short-term contract to support our client, a pioneering biologics manufacturer establishing Australia's first facility dedicated to the production of viral vectors for advanced therapies. The client has recently commissioned a state-of-the-art facility and is preparing for TGA licensing.

This contract role is focused specifically on raw material / incoming material release to support immediate operational readiness.

Role Overview

This contract role is focused specifically on raw material / incoming material release to support immediate operational readiness. Reporting to the Head of Quality Control and Assurance, the QC Technician will support quality control laboratory operations, including sample testing, equipment calibration and maintenance, stock management, and documentation in compliance with GMP requirements. This role is highly varied, involving both laboratory and documentation support to ensure smooth QC operations across testing, compliance, and regulatory readiness.

Duration: Contract (4–6 weeks)

Hours: Full-time hours, Mon–Fri (on-site)

Start: Immediate / ASAP

Working Holiday Visa: Yes - Open to WHV candidates

Team size: ~6

Role Responsibilities
  • Supporting the materials release process for incoming raw materials and consumables.
  • Performing visual inspection, documentation review, and verification of Certificates of Analysis.
  • Ensuring release documentation is completed accurately and approved in line with GMP and data integrity expectations.
  • Maintaining traceability and status control of materials ahead of manufacturing use.
  • Assisting with stock status, labelling, and documentation control for readiness prior to batch start.
  • Escalating any discrepancies, deviations or non-conformances for investigation.
  • Working closely with QA / QC to ensure materials meet release requirements before use in GMP production.

This role is not routine bench testing; it is operational, documentation-heavy, and time-sensitive. You'll be directly helping the site meet licence-readiness timelines.

Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Microbiology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology or similar.
  • 1+ years of experience in a regulated QC / QA / GMP manufacturing environment (pharma, biotech, biologics, sterile manufacturing, etc.).
  • Familiarity with GMP requirements around material release, traceability, and batch documentation is highly regarded.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined release procedures without cutting corners.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where timelines matter.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to communicate clearly with QA / Production.
