Kummara Ltd.is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation established in 1999 to provide support to vulnerable families. The organisation's objective is to support the long-term wellbeing and resilience of Indigenous children and families. Kummara offers many programs and works in partnership with families for the achievement of independence and strengthening of the family's capabilities. We believe in the strengths of family and community and have developed a strong reputation for engaging and supporting our community.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity to join a small dynamic team, the Family Intervention Practitioner is responsible for providing intensive in-home support to families through assessment, counselling skills, psychoeducation/training and therapeutic interventions with children, young people and their families/carers where a child remains living at home and is subject to ongoing intervention and monitoring by Child Safety or where a child is being reunified to their family from an out-of-home care placement.
Service delivery must be in accordance with intervention/case plans using evidence-based practice . Provision of group work to support case plans aimed at increasing parenting capacity is a requirement of the role and practitioners are responsible for the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of outcomes for families within the context of an interdisciplinary environment.
MANDATORY:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, e.g. Degree in Social Work or Human Services, Psychology
- Valid Working with Children Blue Card
- Valid Queensland Driver's license
- Previous Family Support; Family Intervention and/or experience within the Child Protection space highly desirable.
- You must be eligible to work within Australia to apply for this position
