An exciting opportunity exists for Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Level 2 to join the SCHN virtualKIDS service. This position provides relief backfill at 30 hours per week until 17 May, 2026.

virtualKIDS is a dynamic, multidisciplinary service offering on site 24/7 specialty paediatric virtual care to children and young people, both locally and throughout NSW. The aim of our service is to ensure children and their families have access to the right health care, at the right time and in the comfort of their own home. We offer support for children and young people with acute conditions, as well as chronic and complex health care needs.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will provide expert clinical care and education to children and their families within virtualKIDS. The role provides a consultancy and educational focus in the care of children and their families. In collaboration and consultation with key stakeholders, the CNC will undertake primary responsibility for ongoing education, development and evaluation of clinical practice.

The successful candidate will be required to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating roster including nights, weekends and Public Holidays. The work is onsite, across both Children's Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick as required.

What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse / Midwife Consultant ( CNC/CMC) will provide expert clinical care and education to children and their families within a defined specialty.

The role provides a consultancy and educational focus for ward based nurses in the care of children and their families.

In collaboration and consultation with key stakeholders, the CNC/CMC will undertake primary responsibility for on-going education, development and evaluation of clinical practice.
