Adult Educator

Role Purpose:

Enhance the professionalism of Queensland local government by developing, curating, marketing and delivering a range of professional development activities including leadership and management programmes, a wide range of training programmes and personal/professional development webinars.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver elements of the professional development and training programme which may include:

  2. In-council and centralised training programmes (our flagship being a six-day leadership and management programme)

  3. The Australasian Management Challenge
  4. Rural Management Challenges
  5. Webinar programmes (recorded and live)
  6. One-on-one coaching sessions
  7. Research, write and develop collateral for the above programmes including delivery plans, PowerPoints, workbooks, supporting handouts, activities and evaluations.
  8. Evaluate programme delivery and provide programme analysis to the CEO.
  9. Source, develop and deliver webinars and host LGMA webinars with other presenters.
  10. Prepare content for the journal, social media and other publications
  11. General support for LGMA programmes including the journal, Awards for Excellence and conferences as required.

About LGMA:

A couple of things that you may not know about LGMA which could be useful to you in considering the role.  We are a small, not-for-profit organisation of only 10 people (but with a big remit).  We are not government and are not government funded, but we do work with local government officers every day.

Hours and Conditions:

For the right educator, we will design the role to suit.  This could include part-time or full-time or casual, school term-time hours or a sub-contracting arrangement (the latter not preferred).

The role does require extensive travel across Queensland including to remote areas, sometimes for 3-4 day stints.  For example, upcoming travel includes Diamantina, Moranbah and St George.
