The Policy Officer is responsible for providing high-quality timely advice supporting the development and implementation of sector-wide bushfire management policy and strategy, including contemporary bushfire management targets.

In this role, you will work collaboratively and use relationships and influence to further strategic outcomes. The position requires strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, flexibility and adaptability to readily adjust to changing priorities, as well as strong interpersonal skills to understand the drivers behind others' opinions and to build respectful relationships.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in public policy, law, natural resource or environmental management or similar is desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with bushfire risk management or emergency management is highly desirable.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
