About the Role
We are seeking a full-time male Family Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This role involves working closely with individuals, families, and carers to provide practical assistance, emotional support, and capacity-building that promotes independence and community inclusion.
Your duties will include:
- Providing personal care and daily living support, including assistance with hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
- Supporting clients to access the community, attend appointments, and participate in social, cultural, or recreational activities.
- Assisting with domestic tasks, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and household organisation.
- Encouraging and coaching clients to develop independent living skills, social connections, and self-confidence.
- Working collaboratively with families, carers, and allied health professionals to implement support plans and achieve participant goals.
- Maintaining accurate records, reporting on progress, and following individualised support plans and NDIS requirements.
Shifts may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on client needs.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 1 years of experience in disability, community, or family support services.
- A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Community Services, Disability, or an equivalent qualification.
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (essential) to effectively support participants and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring and professional approach.
- Good physical fitness to assist clients safely with manual handling and mobility.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
