Service Leader - Permanent Part-Time | Term 1, 2026 Start

At Lutheran Education Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania (LEVNT) we are passionate about providing quality education and care within a Christian environment to children attending our Services throughout our region.

Two of our well-established community-based sessional kindergarten services we are proud to support are:

  • St Paul's Lutheran Kindergarten, Grovedale, welcomes up to 99 children per day and offers a funded kindergarten program along with a convenient wrap-around After Kinder Care program to support families in accessing their funded kindergarten program.
  • St John's Lutheran Kindergarten, Newtown, welcomes up to 27 children per day and delivers an enriching Early Years Language Program, providing opportunities for children to learn French with an additional Early Childhood Teacher within our 'Year Before School' programs.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Service Leader to join our team in a permanent part-time capacity (0.8FTE, across 4 or 5 days) beginning Term 1, 2026. This exciting leadership role spans both our Grovedale and Newtown sites.

The Role

This role requires the successful applicant to work collaboratively with a team of Early Childhood Educators to deliver a funded kindergarten program which adheres to the Victorian Kindergarten Funding Guidelines. The Service Leader will support staff to deliver high quality, innovative programs that cater to the developmental needs and interests of the children in their care. The successful applicant will be the leader of a team of professionals, whose role is to nurture, strengthen, guide and encourage the people working within the Service. The Service Leader will ensure the Service is compliant with all relevant legislation and perform all responsibilities in an ethical and transparent manner incorporating moral principles of honesty and trust and declaring any conflicts of interest that may arise.

Selection Criteria

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent ACECQA recognised qualification.
  • Previous experience in a leadership and management role within the Early Childhood sector.
  • Current First Aid Qualifications including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
  • Current child protection training.
  • Excellent knowledge of current Child Care Legislation and the National Quality Laws and Regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to positively, proactively and regularly engage with staff, children and families.
  • Ability to run a child safe service, adhering to and adapting to changes in Child Safe policy
  • Demonstrated skills to develop a positive work culture and successful teams.
  • Demonstrated financial management and budgeting skills.
  • Sound computer skills.
  • Commitment to the Christian ethos of the Lutheran Church.
