Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity. This multifaceted role combines responsibilities across warranty claims coordination and resolution, as well as product compliance. This includes hands-on testing of electrical components, reviewing wiring and schematics, identifying product issues, supporting production teams, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards. The successful candidate will also play a key role in ensuring high standards of product performance, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices across our lighting products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warranty Claims Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Aftersales team in terms of analysing warranty claims, approving warranty replacements, managing the return of faulty products for QA assessment and managing Fault Analysis.
  • Perform product returns inspection as required.
  • Review and approve quotes from electrical contractors for rectification works, including site removal and replacement of faulty products.
  • Coordinate the repair, rework, and refurbishment requirements for warranty replacements as required.
  • Maintain detailed records on quality systems and analyse field failure data for quality reporting, including failure type grouping and field failure rate monitoring.
  • Coordinate and participate with the internal cross-functional team to identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to arrange product credits and support root cause investigations and corresponding corrective actions.
  • Manage the disposition of warranty returns.

2. Product Compliance

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure product compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Support compliance review of incoming goods and new products introduced to the market.
  • Where required, review and approve test reports.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a QA, testing, or manufacturing role related to electrical or electronic products.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Trade qualification (e.g., Electrical Fitter, Electrician, or Electrical Technician) may be considered with relevant experience.
  • Certification in Testing & Tagging, Electrical Safety, or High Voltage Testing is advantageous.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in product compliance, quality assurance, or after-sales/warranty processes within a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand standards for lighting or electrical products (e.g., AS/NZS standards).
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management System or similar frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to manage data for quality, and compliance reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.

What we offer you:

  • Work for a multi-disciplinary global organisation
  • Competitive salary and corporate discounts
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Additional leave and bonus
  • Access to health and wellbeing programs
