Sleep and Respiratory Technologist

POSITION: SLEEP TECHNOLOGIST (Part-Time/ Full-Time)

About the Business

Perth Respiratory and Sleep Clinic is a well-established, private sleep clinic, located centrally at the Mount Hospital. We are committed to providing a high level of patient centered care and delivering an exceptional standard of polysomnographic and respiratory testing to assist in the detection and treatment of sleep and respiratory disorders under the direction of Dr Michael Prichard.

About the Role

We currently have a position available for a Setup and/or Overnight Sleep Technician, with training to perform specific respiratory function tests. The role requires working shifts, and applying candidates must be prepared to work overnight on weekends on a regular basis.

Reporting to the Sleep Laboratory Manager, the role will involve patient care, application of sleep monitoring equipment, titration of therapies (PAP; oxygen), overnight sleep monitoring and signal maintenance. Full training will be provided to successful candidates.

Shifts:

Shifts are generally 8-12hrs in duration, excluding break-time. Overnight shifts run 19:00-07:30.

Penalty rates are applicable to evening, overnight and weekend work.

Essential Selection Criteria:

• A tertiary level degree in a health science related field
• A high level of attention to detail and personal time management
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Appropriate computer, technical and scientific skills
• Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience or qualification in Sleep Medicine
• Shiftwork experience
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Working With Children Certificate

All staff require Working with Children, police clearance and Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification, applicants must be willing to apply for these, at own cost, if successful.
