About the role

As an Assistant Accountant at San Carlo Homes for the Aged Ltd, you will be a key member of the finance team, providing critical support to the accounting and finance operations. Working in a part-time capacity, you will be based in our South Morang, Victoria location.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Perform general accounting duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and systems
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to answer queries and provide financial information
  • Support the implementation of financial controls and compliance with relevant regulations.

What we're looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar assistant accountant, preferably in the aged care or healthcare industry
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial management tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the finance team and other departments
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
  • We are seeking candidates who will be able to commence immediately.
