Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney's western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Secretary to support the Head of Renal Services, Nurse Unit Manager, and Staff Specialists within Renal Services at NBMLHD. This pivotal role involves managing complex workflows, diary commitments, and departmental meetings, while overseeing administrative processes to ensure efficient service delivery. The successful candidate will coordinate outpatient clinic setups, TESL arrangements, and billing processes, while supervising other administrative staff and maintaining high standards of office efficiency. Responsibilities also include rostering, recruitment coordination, performance reviews, and leave management for medical staff, as well as ensuring accurate documentation and correspondence across inpatient and outpatient services. The role also liaises with WSLHD's Renal Service and provides coverage and training for other admin officers as needed.

What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including staff management and leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to compose quality correspondence, documents, and reports in a professional and timely manner
- Demonstrated experience in a clinic setting including setting up new outpatient services, I.PM Appointment scheduling, waitlist management, billing practices and clinic workflow management.
- Demonstrated effective customer service experience for a broad range of clients
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team and with senior medical and nursing staff
- Demonstrated ability to implement change management processes through effective communication and negotiation with the multidisciplinary team to assist with the development and implementation of new policies and procedures
- Ability to be flexible between all locations of Renal Service within NBMLHD
- Demonstrated organisational/time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision under pressure, meet tight timeframes and managing competing demands
