Our Client:

We are working with a dynamic engineering firm delivering comprehensive and tailored solutions across the mining and resources sector. Their team of specialists has played key roles in some of the industry's most technically challenging projects, with a strong focus on execution, innovation, and successful outcomes.

We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Subiaco-based team.

About the role:As part of a collaborative and experienced engineering group, you will work on the detailed design of mining processing plants. The role involves laying out plants, selecting equipment, and ensuring designs are safe, efficient, and practical for site execution. While based in Subiaco, you may occasionally travel to site on an ad-hoc basis to gather information, confirm tie-in points, or check design progress.

Key responsibilities:

  • Detailed design of mineral processing plants, including material and slurry handling systems
  • Sizing and selection of pumps, conveyors, and mechanical equipment
  • Plant layout and tie-in point verification
  • Applying sound engineering principles to deliver practical, efficient solutions
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve project outcomes

About you:

  • Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer (CPEng highly regarded, but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of mining processes and mechanical equipment
  • Experience in the design of processing plants, pumps, and materials handling systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; ability to learn and adapt to client-specific tools
  • Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Senior-level experience is desirable, though strong candidates at other levels are encouraged to apply
