Role Description

This is a senior role (Senior Associate or Special Counsel) for someone who thrives on complex, high-quality legal work and wants to be part of a firm that is dynamic, energised, and impact-driven. You'll manage and run planning, environmental, and local government law matters, appear in courts and tribunals, and build strong relationships with clients who value practical, accurate, and innovative legal advice

You'll be located in or around Sydney, NSW. You will handle planning, environmental, and local government law matters, provide legal advice, prepare and review legal documents, and represent clients in court and tribunal proceedings. Responsibilities also include supervising juniors, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations.

You'll play a key role in mentoring juniors and contributing to the growth of our team. At Urban Legal, there are no billable hours, no outdated models of practice, and no compromise on quality. Qualifications

  • Expertise in planning, environmental, and local government law
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
  • Experience in litigation and court representation
  • Excellent client management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior associates
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in legal software and research tools (a MUST)
  • Admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)
