The City has created a recruitment pool and are seeking a professionals to join our team as either a Building Surveyor or Assistant Building Surveyor.
Location: City of Melville Civic Centre
Salary: Up to $119,857.92 p.a. total salary package ($79, $107, % super)*
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
Number of Positions currently available: Two
- Dependent on role, skills and experience
About the Roles
Building Surveyor
As the Building Surveyor, you will ensure a safe and compliant urban built environment by assessing building applications and enforcing regulations. You will work closely with stakeholders to provide expert technical advice and support.
You'll be responsible for:
- Assessment of certified and uncertified building permits and applications (including occupancy permits and building approval certificates)
- Interpreting the building legislation and providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting in the training and mentoring of Assistant Building Surveyors
- Providing customer service to external stakeholders on a range of building matters.
Assistant Building Surveyor
As the Assistant Building Surveyor you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building surveying. You'll be an integral part of our team, ensuring compliance with the Building Act, Building Code of Australia, Council Policies and all other relevant regulations.
You'll be responsible for:
- Assisting with the interpretation of building legislation
- Reviewing and assisting applicants complete building applications
- Providing administrative and customer service support to the building services team
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Building Surveyor
- Qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent experience (Level 3 technician or higher)
- Current 'C' Class Drivers Licence
- A Construction Induction Card (White card) or commitment to obtain this upon being offered the role
- Experience in interpreting maps and building plans, investigating, researching and reporting of building matters.
Assistant Building Surveyor
- Certificate III in Business Administration or similar, or equivalent relevant experience
- Commitment to enrol in a Diploma in Building Surveying or a Bachelor of Building Surveying upon being offered the role
- Commitment to obtain a Construction Induction Card (White card) upon being offered the role
