In-House Lawyer – Early Childhood Education (Australia)

We're looking for a knowledgeable and approachable In-House Lawyer to join our executive team in the early childhood education sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your legal expertise in a values-driven organisation that's shaping the future of early learning across Australia.

About the Role

You'll provide clear, practical legal guidance across employment, compliance, governance, and contracts. Working closely with our HR, Operations, and Leadership teams, you'll help ensure our centres remain compliant within Internal Policies, Australian laws, the National Quality Framework (NQF), and Fair Work legislation.

What You'll Do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and policies

  • Have a day-to-day carriage in matters

  • Assist the senior leadership management team in the day-to-day functions of the business

  • Advise on employment law, risk, and compliance matters

  • Support with investigations, disputes, and reporting

  • Liaise with external legal advisors when necessary

  • Keep up to date with changes in the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent, with practice in a Law firm
  • Someone with strong strategic oversight ability
  • An organised individual who can stay on top of workloads

  • A person with a strong sense of pride and a high level of presentation within their work.

  • Strong capacity for legal research – including  Fair Work Act, NQF/NQS, and workplace compliance

  • Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills

  • A proactive and collaborative approach to supporting teams
