Senior Workforce Capability Manager

About the role
This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving the strategic and tactical development of Babcock Australasia's Engineering, Technology and Project Management (ETaP) workforce. You will set the direction for capability development across the region, working closely with internal stakeholders and global partners to ensure alignment with business needs and future growth. Your remit includes designing and managing career frameworks, training programs, certification pathways, and deployment strategies that enable a high-performing, future-ready workforce. You will lead initiatives that support early careers, engage with academic and industry bodies, and foster a culture of learning and excellence. As a recognised expert, you will provide programmatic support to optimise delivery and performance, while championing governance, safety, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to influence across the organisation, contribute to strategic outcomes, and shape the next generation of technical leaders. Some travel may be required across Australia and internationally.
To be successful in this position you will bring;
- Formal qualification in Project Management, preferably supported by an additional qualification in engineering or technical field.
- A professional and accredited membership within the Project Management and or Engineering functions.
- Experience managing projects of varying type and significant complexity: including varying products, services, across all phases of the lifecycle.
- Experience developing and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders in support of achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Thinks conceptually and systemically to solve current and future issues and validate opportunities.
- Demonstrating the importance of visible leadership in shaping a culture of ongoing improvement.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines
