ABOUT YOU

We have an exciting opportunity for a Female Disability Support Worker based in Helensvale QLD who is friendly, respectful, and willing to learn. The ideal candidate truly cares for clients, is a great listener, and can maintain composure, even when the client exhibits challenging behaviors.

Strong relationship-building skills with clients and stakeholders are essential, as is a genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities, including those with complex disabilities, physical disability, Autism and knows seizure management.

Requirements:

  • Availability Monday to Sunday.
  • Assisting clients with social outings, visits to local shops, and community access.
  • Some personal care may be required.
  • Seeking a female support worker with clear English communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with complex disabilities, Autism and knows seizure management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff, management, participants, and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Assist participants with their goals and empower them to achieve independence through skill development.
  • Provide regular and professional support in line with participants' plans, needs, and desires.
  • Support participants in accessing social and community activities, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
  • Implement strategies to enhance participants' skills, identify areas for additional support, and explore opportunities to help them achieve their goals.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate IV in Disability/Aged Care, or equivalent qualification (Mandatory).
  • Current First Aid Level 2 Certificate (Mandatory).
  • Experience working with clients with complex disabilities, Autism and knows seizure management (Preferred).
  • National Police Check (Mandatory).
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance (preferred but not essential).
  • Manual handling experience (preferred).
  • Administration of medication experience (preferred).
  • Current CPR certification (annual).
  • Working with Children's Check (WWCC) (Mandatory).
  • Yellow Card/ NDIS Clearing (Mandatory).
  • Current Australian Driver's License (MUST).
  • Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate (Mandatory).
  • ABN and Public Liability Insurance (preferred).

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $38.00 – $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Morning shift
  • Afternoon shift
  • Day shift
  • Weekend availability

Location: Helensvale (QLD)

(You must be able to reliably commute or be planning to relocate before starting work)

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • Working with Children Check (Preferred)
  • Yellow Card/ NDIS Clearing (Mandatory).
  • National Police Certificate (Preferred)
  • Driver's Licence (Preferred)
