MEDLOG is an integrated service provider within the container transport industry with locations in Sydney, Port Botany. Specialising in wharf cartage, container storage and handling, warehousing and distribution, we are a globally owned group growing rapidly in the Sydney marketplace.

We are seeking a wash bay operator to join our team at our Sydney Depot based in Port Botany.

About the Role:

As a Wash Bay Operator, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our clients cargo consisting of: Motor Vehicles / Motorcycles / Trucks / Spare Parts are consistently cleaned and presentable.

The cleaning standard must be up to DAFF standard. (Department of Agriculture Forest and Fishery)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Thoroughly washing and cleaning trucks, trailers, containers, motor bikes, motor vehicles and other items ordered by DAFF.
  • Operating and maintaining wash bay equipment.
  • Performing basic vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Reporting any damage both written and photographic.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Assisting with other general yard duties as required.
  • Yard and warehouse maintenance – ensure standards of hygiene and cleanliness are adhered to both MEDLOG and DAFF policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently and effectively wash all items presented in the wash bay.
  • Load and Unload vehicles onto vehicle hoist
  • Maintain the wash bay and equipment in a clean and safe working order.
  • Washday is to be thoroughly cleaned at the end of each shift.
  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar wash bay or vehicle cleaning role is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Mechanical background is advantageous
  • Motor vehicle background is advantageous
  • Valid driver's license is a must.
  • Valid forklift license is a must
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to deadlines.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
