Summary:

As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for leading design initiatives that align with both product vision and user needs. This role requires a balance between creativity and strategic thinking, ensuring that our products not only meet functional requirements but also deliver exceptional user experiences. You will own the design process from ideation to final implementation, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders. By conducting user research and testing, you will gain deep insights into the unique needs and challenges of graziers, shaping product designs that make a tangible impact on their operations.

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing our mission to enhance both grazing and environmental outcomes. Your work will contribute to the development of tools and solutions that allow graziers to manage their businesses more effectively while achieving sustainability goals. Responsibilities:

  • Own the design process from ideation to implementation, contributing strategically within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Lead design initiatives to align product vision with business objectives and user needs.
  • Advocate for design excellence, ensuring design systems and UI components are consistent and scalable.
  • Conduct research and testing to deeply understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points in the grazing and environmental sectors.
  • Analyse research data to inform user-centric design decisions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that guide product development and align with user needs.
  • Produce high-quality design artifacts, using rapid prototyping to test and validate ideas.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, communicating design decisions effectively.
  • Embrace an iterative approach, refining designs based on feedback while balancing user and technical needs.
  • Advocate for the customer, ensuring designs are centred on understanding jobs-to-be-done.
  • Design accessible and consistent user interfaces that enhance usability and align with brand standards.
  • Promote an MVP approach, focusing on user-validated, tightly-scoped designs in an agile environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, actively seek feedback, and contribute innovative design ideas.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product design, preferably in the Agtech, environmental, or related tech sectors
  • Proven track record of designing successful digital products, evidenced by a strong portfolio
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience conducting user research, interviews or focus groups
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven experience building and working with design systems in Figma and owning engagement with component library with Engineering
