About The Role

We at InfraBuild would like to invite recent or soon-to-be graduates to take part in our 2026 Graduate Program as a Graduate Metallurgist based in Laverton, VIC.

Real Work with Real Outcomes - Starting in January 2026, our program offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent placement. This immersive, hands-on program provides practical learning through fundamental tasks and meaningful work. Participants will complete two 12-month rotational placements, gaining a comprehensive technical and commercial skills training blend.

The program includes continuous coaching, mentorship, and formal training, allowing participants to rotate through diverse business units. This structure ensures a thorough understanding of operations and strategic initiatives, combining on-the-job learning with formal education.

As a Graduate Metallurgist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Translate your academic insights into practical solutions tailored for steel manufacturing.
  • Spearhead initiatives to streamline processes, bolster yield, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate on projects dedicated to fortifying safety standards, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness within the steel production domain.
  • Tackle a diverse array of tasks spanning various aspects of metallurgical engineering within the InfraBuild framework.

About You
We Seek adaptable individuals who thrive in challenging environments, are keen to engage in real projects, work as part of a team, and make meaningful contributions to the business.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A genuine passion for Metallurgy within the operational context of steel manufacturing and distribution.
  • Australian/NZ citizenship or a visa granting unlimited working rights.
  • Completion of an Australian tertiary degree within the past three years (or set to conclude in 2025).
  • Less than two years of full-time, discipline-specific work experience.

Note: Successful placement into this program will be subject to pre-employment checks, including but not limited to criminal, qualification, medical, and reference checks.
