About the Role
Centacare NENW is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement & Development Officer to join our Clinical Services team in Armidale. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of Community Services and Development.

What You Will Do
In this hands-on, community-facing role, you will:
Connect with individuals and local groups to understand their needs, strengths, and goalsDesign and deliver inclusive community initiatives that build connection, participation, and wellbeingDevelop genuine partnerships with parishes, service providers, schools, First Nations communities, and other local stakeholdersSupport the voices of those who may be marginalised or overlookedEnsure all engagement activities reflect Catholic Social TeachingCelebrate community wins, share stories, and help shape future direction through local insightOur Benefits

Skills and Experience
You're someone who thrives on relationships, sees potential in every person, and enjoys turning ideas into action. You'll bring:
A qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, or a related disciplineExperience in community engagement, youth development, group facilitation, or program coordination—especially in health, mental health, or not-for-profit settingsA natural ability to build trust and communicate with people from all walks of lifeA passion for social justice, inclusion, and faith-based missionUnderstanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by young people aged 12–25, including those from diverse or marginalised backgroundsCultural sensitivity and an understanding of trauma-informed practiceMotivation, initiative, and a team mindsetWhether you've worked in the sector for years or are looking for a meaningful next step—we value heart, humility, and the ability to listen deeply.
