Mechanical Engineering Technician

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are engaged by a specialist powder coating and anodising company based in Reservoir, Victoria, offering protective and decorative finishes for aluminium and other metal products. As they consolidate their operations, and prepare for further growth, they have engaged Kogan People Solutions to work with them to recruit a skilled experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician.

Location is Reservoir Victoria.

Full time, ongoing, role

Salary on offer is negotiable in the range $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum.

The opportunity

Our client is now seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to be involved om assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and other critical company manufacturing process and associated factory operations.

Responsibilities of this role will include

  • Perform routine testing programs on factory mechanical plant to identify potential structural failures, corrosion, or mechanical inefficiencies before they impact production.
  • Maintaining records of all factory operations, including repair schedules and material inventories.
  • Performing routine inspections and testing programmes of factory mechanical and other related plant to identify problems or potential problems.
  • Evaluating new technology for use in equipment upgrade or repair projects.
  • Installing and maintaining equipment for monitoring factory production facilities.
  • Installing production facilities using precision tools and other more sophisticated equipment.
  • Demonstrated keenness to upgrade your mechanical knowledge and share with colleagues.

  • Qualifications: Solid highly relevant Diploma or better level qualifications in engineering or other comparable and relevant field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience, ideally within a powder coating, anodising, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verifiable record keeping skills.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
