About the Role:

Paliguard Pty Ltd (MLN is seeking applications for a Head of Training & Development.

Paliguard provides advice and services directly to our clients' leadership, individual communal institutions, organisations, and events. Its operations include protection, research and advice, investigations, crisis management, and liaising with the community, relevant government agencies and other stakeholders. With a reputation built on integrity, operational excellence, and critical services, we are seeking an execution-focused and results-driven Head of Training & Development to join our leadership team.

This is not a back-office role. It's a front-line leadership opportunity to transform training & development, drive performance and continual improvement, and scale impact in an industry where trust and precision are everything.

The ideal candidate will be a decisive and strategic leader who combines foresight with operational credibility and deep expertise in building organisational capability. They will ensure that every member of the organisation, across all roles and disciplines, is trained to the highest standard required to operate effectively in a complex and evolving threat environment. Central to the role is creating transparent and robust development pathways that move employees and volunteers from induction through to advanced leadership and instructor positions, securing a sustainable pipeline of talent. Above all, this leader will be values-driven, collaborative, and uncompromising.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Developing and leading the organisation's training strategy

2) Creating and developing a self-sufficient training program

3) Leading our team of instructors, developing standards of excellence

4) Quality, Compliance and Evaluation

5) Developing and leading a culture of learning and excellence

6) Community outreach and stakeholder training

Required Skills and Experience:

· Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in training, capability, and course development, preferably within the security environment.

· Team and Volunteer Management: Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams and integrate volunteer workforces into formal operations.

· Strategic Delivery: Proven record of designing and leading training strategies at scale, with measurable outcomes.

· Community-Focused: Experience working in or with community organisations and groups.

· Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders.

· Strong Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively problem-solve and make decisions.

· Relevant Qualification/s will be strongly regarded.
