**Head of Governance**

Be a part of a delivering governance services to ensure MHNSW can preserve its value and deliver better outcomes to the people of NSW. As the Head of Governance you will lead a professional and dynamic team within a varied and fast-paced environment whilst maintaining effective stakeholder relationships to meet business needs.

**What the opportunity is**:

- Full-time, ongoing, employment with Museums of History NSW.
- Clerk Grade 11/12. Remuneration package includes salary ($139,787 - $161,663), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- The role will work across Sydney and has the opportunity for flexibility including some work from home.

**What we do**
MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives. This includes one of the world’s most complete and important collections documenting colonisation.

**What you’ll do with us**
This role will lead a multi-disciplinary team who provide strategic advice, guidance and governance services across MHNSW including secretariat for relevant Boards and Committees, management of GIPA and PIDs, procurement advice, risk management, compliance, coordination of legal services, government relations and organisational policy development.

1. This role will balance the provision of sound advice and the needs of the business. Please describe a time where you have had to provide difficult and complex advice to a key stakeholder. What approach did you take and how do you know it was successful.

2. This role will have to lead the management of risk and the effectiveness of controls to mitigate risk. Please describe a time when you have implemented or evaluated controls across a number of business units. What were the challenges and how did you overcome them?

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Substantial senior management experience and demonstrated stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated superior written communication skills.
- Willingness to work across MHNSW sites and ability to travel to multiple locations.
