About this Project

Riverlea is the South Australia's largest master planned community.  Previously known as the Buckland Park development, it will have homes for 30,000 people, shops, a business hub, 50ha of lakes, 420ha of open space and four schools. It is predicted $3bn will be invested over 20 years and 10,000 jobs created during the development.

The Opportunity

Riverlea's growth has created an exciting opportunity for a Ground and Maintenance Trade Assistant. This role has been created to oversee the premium presentation and maintenance of the Riverlea Development. This role will provide hands-on experience and structured learning in landscape maintenance, horticulture, and grounds management while working under the guidance of experienced team members.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to start or expand their career in horticulture, turf management, or general groundskeeping.

Here's what you'll focus on

  • Assist in maintaining the presentation of Riverlea's grounds, landscaped areas and open spaces
  • Support with scheduled maintenance activities such as mowing, weeding, pruning, watering and fertilising
  • Learn and support irrigation monitoring and repairs under supervision
  • Assist with pest and disease identification and treatments
  • Operate hand tools and machinery safely under guidance
  • Participate in plant nursery care including potting, watering and pruning
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of trees and planted areas
  • Support with stock control, site cleanliness, and equipment checks
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible workplace

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Capable of manual labour
  • Relevant training (e.g. Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent) or willingness to complete
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in similar role
  • Current valid driver's license
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to attain
  • Holds a General Induction for Construction Work (White card) or willingness to attain
