Full time position 38 hours plus per week.

Rate: Level 3 kitchen attendant grade 2 - Hospitality Industry General Award 2021

Location: Newman, Western Australia

Oasis @ Newman is a privately owned accommodation facility located 7kms south of Newman, Western Australia. Newman is the Gateway to the Real Outback and is a short distance to world famous attractions, including Karijini National Park, Carawine Gorge and historical Indigenous sites.

Oasis boasts 800+rooms, resort-style swimming pool, dining room, gym, al fresco and recreation room.

Job Summary: A Kitchen Hand supports kitchen and service staff in food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards in hospitality settings. This role is essential for the smooth operation of kitchens in restaurants, cafes, hotels, and other food service establishments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation including chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and preparing simple dishes.
  • Clean kitchen appliances, work areas, and utensils.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, pantries, and storage areas.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste and maintain garbage areas.
  • Support cooks and chefs with various tasks during meal service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all kitchen areas.
  • Assist with inventory checks and stock control.
  • Help with setting up and breaking down kitchen equipment.

The position will require to live on site at Oasis in Newman full time. Accommodations and meals can be provided.

This role will require weekend work with accommodation provided for a weekly deduction as per the Hospitality Industry General Award 2021.
