About the role:

Our client is seeking an Analytical Chemist to support a pilot metallurgical testing program in Morocco. This is a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) assignment, with contracts paid under Australian terms. You will be part of a team working on a pilot program analyzing uranium for a large African mining company.

Roles Required:

  • Experienced in ICP-MS and ICP-OES (and ideally XRF).

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct metallurgical assay work to support continuous pilot plant operations.
  • Apply expertise in ICP (OES/MS), XRF, or wet chemistry methods as required.
  • Work collaboratively with skilled local analysts, transferring knowledge and supporting capacity building.
  • Ensure adherence to pilot schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Support the Lab Consultant in delivering accurate, timely assay outputs.

Engagement Details

  • Contract Duration: 3–4 months (November 2025 – February 2026, subject to pilot schedule).
  • Rosters: 2 weeks on-site (12-hour shifts, 168 hours total), followed by 1 week off in Morocco.
  • Rest & Recreation (R&R): One paid return break to home country (1 week) during the assignment, scheduled to ensure continuous pilot operations.
  • Accommodation: Hotel in El Jadida with one meal provided daily. Additional meals arranged by ACs.
  • Transport: Daily transport between hotel and pilot plant provided.
  • Travel: International flights (Perth Casablanca) provided. Paid travel time (up to 48 hours total). Ground transfers covered.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRF, or wet chemistry assay methods.
  • Previous experience in metallurgical laboratories or pilot plant environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to work in cross-cultural teams.
  • Willingness to work on a FIFO contract in Morocco for up to 4 months.
  • Commitment to knowledge transfer and supporting local capability.
  • French language skills are advantageous but not essential.
