Our client, Good Folk Brewing Pty Ltd, is seeking passionate and dedicated full-time chefs for its newly opened restaurant in Hamilton, NSW 2303. Nestled in regional NSW, the venue reflects the charm and character of the local community while delivering a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Known for its outstanding service and commitment to culinary excellence, the restaurant celebrates modern Australian cuisine with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Scope of the Role:

  • The day-to-day operation of a busy kitchen, including delegating staff, stock rotation and relevant paperwork.
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure the timely delivery of services.
  • Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
  • Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items based on food, labour, and overhead costs.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to execute the menu, considering factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.
  • Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (WHS) AND HACCP
  • Prepare and ensure a regulated oven, utensils, and grill for the shift
  • Cook the order according to food health and safety standards
  • Support senior chefs by executing their direction into consistently high-quality dishes, maintaining efficiency and precision across all sections of the kitchen.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
  • Train junior staff to uphold the standard of the venue and maintain operational efficiency.

To be considered for this role, you should:

  • Be willing to relocate if you are interstate or in other cities.
  • Preferably have Certificates III & IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Be available on both days at weekends and be able to work split shifts.
  • Have at least 2
  • 3 years of work experience as a Cook/Chef.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
