Mechanical Fitter

Trade Qualified Fitter – AWX are sourcing a Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter.

The role is Day Shift, Monday to Friday with potential for overtime as required. Temp to perm opportunity. Forklift licence is essential. Welding/Oxy cutting skills. Good understanding of hydraulic & pneumatic systems. Sound safety background.

On the job training for specific equipment will be provided.

No pre-existing health concerns or conditions that could impact ability to carry out all aspects of the job.

The Fitter is responsible for the overall maintenance and day to day upkeep of all site plant & equipment associated with the production and manufacturing of Steel Strapping Products, Seal Manufacture, Splitting Line, Angleboard Operations, coordinating its activities and ensuring its smooth operation. The Fitter will be trained in several key operator positions in order to cover operations personnel during times of labour shortages or emergencies. It is therefore essential that the Fitter can work within a team environment.

• Maintain and oversee day-to-day upkeep of site plant & equipment related to production and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate activities and ensure smooth operation of production lines (Steel Strapping Products, Seal Manufacture, Splitting Line, Angleboard Operations).
• Be trained in key operator positions to cover operations personnel during labour shortages or emergencies.
• Work effectively within a team environment.

• Trade Certificate
• Current Drivers licence
• Forklift licence is required
• Reliable Vehicle
• Ability to pass drug & alcohol screening
• Welding/Oxy cutting skills
• Good understanding of hydraulic & pneumatic systems
• Sound safety background
• No pre-existing health concerns that could impact ability to perform the role
