What you'll be doing

The Oral Health Therapist Level 3 provides dental therapy and dental hygiene care to patients within the limits of their formally attained scope of practice. They provide supervision and support to level 1 and 2 oral health therapists with a clinical, education and management focus. The Oral Health Therapist provides clinical services of a complex nature requiring advanced practical skills.

Selection Criteria

  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Oral Health Therapist.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality clinical and diagnostic skills, whilst exercising independent professional judgement when problem solving. A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventative/population health approach to patient care.
  • Demonstrated experience in design and management of quality improvement projects.
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality and abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct in line with prescribed NSW Health policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively and sensitively with a wide range of individuals and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems, word processing software, clinical software and hardware including electronic patient records and digital imaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively , providing support and guidance to team members.
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
