About the role

PMG is seeking an experienced senior level administrator to join our Marine Department based in Townsville. This fulltime office-based position provides essential support to the marine operations team, being relied upon to ensure vessel compliance and marine crew rosters and project logistics meet all statutory requirements.

Working in a dynamic environment you will be relied upon to;

  • Provide direct support to the Marine Operations Manager to assist in the safe and efficient operation of vessels.
  • Assist the operational team to ensure compliance with Australian and international maritime standards and codes.
  • Coordinate and respond to all vessel crewing, travel and marine logistics requirements as required in accordance with the vessel manning certification and areas of operation (Near Coastal and Unlimited).
  • Continuous monitoring and synopsis of regulatory, legislative and local industry reviews providing updates to PMG Marine Management Team and crews.
  • Administration tasks to support the Marine office and specific projects.

About you

You will have a strong background in administration and operational experience.

Key Requirements.

  • Demonstrated administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and experienced in the use of MS Office – based applications (MS Word / Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Must demonstrate a systematic approach to planning, executing, and reviewing their work
  • Demonstrated ability to work to strict deadlines and manage own workload
  • Excellent communication skills to relay critical information
  • Great time management and the ability to respond to clients and project needs as required
  • Ability to review and manage internal software systems
  • Experience in the Maritime industry (not essential but advantageous)
