The Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) is a place of welcome, providing practical and personal support for people living in the community who are seeking asylum. Founded in 1993 on strong human rights values, ASC continues to stand alongside people seeking safety, offering connection, care and advocacy.

We are seeking a visionary and commercially astute Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships to join our Executive team and drive the next chapter of ASC's fundraising and partnership growth.

About the Role

As Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships, you will:

  • Lead ASC's fundraising and partnership strategy, reporting directly to the CEO.
  • Inspire and manage a team of professionals, embedding best practice donor engagement.
  • Deliver significant uplift in philanthropic grants, major gifts, bequests, corporate partnerships and community engagement.
  • Build and steward strong relationships with high-value donors, foundations, businesses and supporters.
  • Champion innovation in donor experience, data integrity, and fundraising technology.
  • Collaborate across ASC to elevate our profile, generate income, and ensure long-term sustainability.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strategic vision, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders including Boards, senior executives, and major donors.

About You

We are looking for a proven fundraising leader who brings:

  • A successful track record in securing 5-6 figure gifts, grants and bequests.
  • Strong management skills and experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to deliver sustainable revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical capability to inform strategy, reporting and ROI improvement.

Desirable attributes include lived experience as a refugee or person seeking asylum, CFRE certification, FIA membership, and knowledge of CiviCRM.
