Reporting Analyst plays a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. They work closely with departments like finance, marketing, and sales to identify performance trends, manage data projects, and deliver clear, strategic recommendations. Using tools like Power BI, SQL, and ServiceNow, they create dashboards and reports that help stakeholders understand key metrics and improve outcomes. The role demands strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and a knack for turning complex data into compelling stories.

Requirements

• Collaborates with leaders in allied / supported functions (e.g., finance, marketing, sales, etc.) as well as existing and potential clients to identify business opportunities and challenges and develop associated information needs.
• Determines analytical methodologies and tools appropriate for investigating identified challenges and opportunities.
• Manages and executes medium size projects or components of larger projects from start to finish, including:  o Data gathering and manipulation,  o Synthesis and modeling,  o Problem solving, and  o Communication of insights and recommendations.
• Delivers concise, compelling, data-driven recommendations on where and how alternative business decisions could lead to improved performance.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• 4-6 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be based in Canberra, Australia.
• Applicants must be Australian Citizens. This role will not be able to accept applications from permanent residents or work visa holders at this time for the role.
• To be a successful, you must hold an active Baseline Security Clearance.
• Ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision and work independently with minor direction.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in project accounting and/or earned value management.
• BS degree in IT or a related field.
• Experience with and knowledge of any one or more of the below:
• ServiceNow
• Enterprise Reporting Suite (Microsoft Business Intelligence)
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
• Power BI (desired)
• ITIL (desired)
• SQL (desired)
• PowerShell (desired)
• Capability to deliver high-caliber soft skills, including time management, interpersonal skills (e.g., courtesy, patience, professionalism), workflow management, and customer service.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate details for financial reports and documentation.
