About the role

MD Food Australia is seeking an experienced WHS Manager to join our team at our site in Echuca, Victoria. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of workplace health and safety for our busy Meat plant facility. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our workforce.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop, implement and maintain robust WHS policies, procedures and management systems
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures
  3. Manage WHS compliance and ensure adherence to all relevant legislation and regulations
  4. Investigate and report on workplace incidents, and implement corrective actions
  5. Provide training and support to all staff on WHS best practices
  6. Collaborate with the production team to identify and address safety concerns
  7. Monitor and analyse WHS data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
  8. Represent the company on all WHS matters and liaise with regulatory bodies

What we're looking for

  1. Tertiary qualification in WHS, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
  2. Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar WHS management role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of WHS legislation and best practice standards
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks
  5. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  6. Proven track record of driving continuous improvement in WHS performance
  7. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently
