About the role
Australia Disability Services is seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in Point Cook, VIC on a contract basis. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with a range of disabilities to live independently and participate actively in their communities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.
What you'll be doing
- Provide personalised, one-on-one support to clients with a range of physical, intellectual, and cognitive disabilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks
- Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote clients' independence, community engagement, and overall wellbeing
- Advocate for clients' rights and ensure their needs are met with dignity, respect, and empathy
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised support plans
- Maintain detailed client records and documentation in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
What we're looking for
- A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated experience in providing direct personal care and support to individuals with a range of disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients, their families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills
- Compassionate, patient, and person-centred approach to care
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
