We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with children and are passionate about promoting a safe, respectful and positive environment.

About the role:

Locations: Edensor Park, NSW

Role Type: Full Time

This is a full-time position, working with an experienced team in a supportive and nurturing environment.

  • Preparing, serving and disposing of food to all applicable Australian Standards – ensuring it exceeds the expectations and needs of the children and families
  • Ensuring all meals served to children (0-6yrs), are high quality, nutritious and safe for them to consume in consideration of age, allergies, anaphylaxis, preferences, family requests and culture
  • Ordering groceries (refrigerated, frozen and pantry) as guided by policy and Centre Director
  • Support exceeding operation of the service against NQF standards
  • Support the health and well-being of children by planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks according to the weekly menu.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food.
  • Leading and fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, respect and empowerment with all staff

What we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in working as a cook – in an education setting is highly desirable
  • Cooking qualifications including up to date food handling certificate

  • An understanding of the Australian Food Safety Guidelines surrounding food preparation and kitchen operations

  • Knowledge of the importance of allergies and anaphylaxis in children and experience in preparing meals for a range of dietary needs

  • Experience maintaining a safe and clean environment
  • Ability to work well as part of a collaborative team
  • You will need to obtain a Working with Children Check
