Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia Global 360 Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

About Us:

We are a trusted, accredited provider of insurance repairs and disaster relief services, working with some of Australia's leading insurance companies. With a proud history of delivering competitive, reliable, and high-quality results, we value teamwork, innovation, and customer satisfaction. We are looking for someone with the right attitude and enthusiasm to join our dynamic team. Prior building experience is not essential - we're happy to provide training for the right candidate who is organised, proactive, and eager to learn.

About the Role:

The Estimator ensures the timely and accurate completion of property repair assessments and scope of works for our customers with a heavy focus on KPI's, accuracy of costings and scope, and quality customer service. The Estimator engages and coordinates specialist trades when necessary and integrates their findings into comprehensive reports for insurers. Risk identification and planning support for high-risk activities form a core part of the role, ensuring works meet legislative and safety standards.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate and schedule trades to complete urgent make-safe works and prevent further property damage.
  • Assess property damage either onsite or remotely, ensuring compliance with building codes, industry standards and insurer requirements.
  • Prepare clear and professional causation reports and detailed Scope of Works for both minor and complex building losses.
  • Engage and manage specialist trades for technical assessments, incorporating expert findings into reports.
  • Ensure all cost estimates are accurate, competitive, and compliant with relevant contracts, codes and insurer expectations.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, insurers and trades to guide them through the insurance and repair process.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations with timely updates and professional communication throughout the job lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate job records across all internal systems, ensuring visibility and compliance.
  • Identify high-risk work and support HSEQ planning and assurance activities across multiple job sites.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to systems, processes and procedures.
  • Support internal teams with technical advice, helping to lift capability across the business.

What We're Looking:

We're not focused on qualifications or prior experience in construction - what matters most is your attitude and ability to get the job done. If you're from a construction / trade background, organised, a great communicator, and enjoy problem-solving, we'd love to hear from you.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Trade qualification or tertiary education in building, construction management, or a related field
  • Builders / QBCC Licence
  • White Card
  • Current driver's licence
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in building estimating, insurance assessment, or a related construction or trade-based role.
  • Solid understanding of residential and/or commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Demonstrated experience preparing scopes of work and damage causation reports
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance industry practices, especially in property claims (not essential)
  • High level of written communication skills for professional reporting
  • Sound knowledge of HSEQ practices and relevant legislation
  • Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong systems, operational and reporting skills with a willingness to work flexible hours and be adaptable to changed routines from time to time

What You'll Gain:

  • A supportive, inclusive team culture where you'll feel valued and empowered.
  • Support, training and guidance from experienced manager
  • Opportunities for career development and progression.
  • Recognition and rewards for your hard work and contribution.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to step into an exciting role where they can make a real impact. No previous experience in Estimating or insurance? No problem - we'll provide all the training you need.
