Smith's Lawyers is one of Queensland's leading plaintiff law firms specialising in TPD, WorkCover and CTP claims. With 60 staff and a remote workforce, we deliver client-first service through modern systems and robust governance.

We're seeking an experienced Finance Co-ordinator to manage the firm's daily financial operations and act as the key link between internal teams and our external CFO (KPMG).

This is a fully remote position (open to candidates anywhere in Australia) working standard Queensland business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check and verify fortnightly payroll data before KPMG processing.
  • Process supplier invoices, payments and expenses in Xero.
  • Perform bank and credit-card reconciliations and manage payment runs.
  • Maintain billing processes through Leap, including invoice generation, trust transfers, and co-ordination with the legal teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain vendor and expense records; assist with month end reporting.
  • Maintain data integrity across Xero and Leap.
  • Liaise with KPMG for reconciliations, reporting and audit report.

Skills & Experience

5+ years bookkeeping or finance experience legal, accounting or professional services.

Proficiency in Xero and familiarity with Leap (or similar PMS).

Strong understanding of payroll, billing, reconciliations and month-end processes.

Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.

Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication.

Self-motivated and able to work independently within a remote team during core hours.
