About the role

We are looking for a lawyer with approximately 1-3 years PAE. Applicants with experience in criminal law (including prosecuting), coronial work or regulatory/disciplinary law matters are encouraged to apply.

Candidate requirements:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, and professional confidence.
  • Willingness and ability to work autonomously.
  • Established skills in criminal and/or regulatory file management; or at minimum, a strong interest in these areas and ability to transfer established skills from a different area.
  • Driver's licence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing high quality advice and representation to criminal law clients in a broad range of criminal matters.
  • Acting for respondents in a wide variety of disciplinary and regulatory proceedings.
  • With appropriate experience and supervision, appearing as solicitor-advocate in all Qld courts and tribunals, including the Coroners Court and QCAT, as well as instructing counsel in superior court proceedings.
  • Advising and representing government agencies in the investigation and prosecution of regulatory offences.
