We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Leading Hand to join our dynamic team at the Rydalmere Workshop. This is a fantastic opportunity to work hands-on with a global leader, where your leadership and technical expertise will play a key role in guiding our workshop team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality service and solutions to our valued customers.

Key duties include

  • Lead and coordinate a small Workshop team

  • Ensure high standards of workmanship throughout the Workshop are maintained with positive mentoring and leading by example. 

  • Provide regular updates to the Workshop Supervisor to ensure timelines are met and communication is maintained.

  • Workshop installations and pre-delivery inspection duties for all new or used cranes and hook loaders

  • Fabrication and installation of subframes from design to development and manufacture

  • Service duties of new and used vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders

  • Completion of all job documentation

  • Always working in a safe manner and adhering to site policies and procedures in order to enhance the safety culture & performance of the site.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Prior experience in a Leading Hand role working in a similar industry

  • Hold a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical, Fabrication Trade, or equivalent; 

  • Experience working on heavy vehicles

  • Experience with cranes and or hook loaders an advantage

  • Ability to interpret drawings and procedures

  • Have strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Have demonstrated ability to work safely

  • Have good time management and work prioritisation skills

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word for communication, reporting, and documentation.

  • Have a current Drivers licence, HR preferable; 

  • Be able to pass a pre-employment medical and a National Police Check.
