Position Information

Auburn Girls High School is a partially academically selective and comprehensive high school with an enrolment of 850 girls, 98% of whom have a language background other than English. The school has increasingly achieved outstanding HSC and NAPLAN results. This is due to a strong commitment to building collective teacher efficacy and using evidence-based practices to target areas including literacy, numeracy and HPGE. Auburn Girls High School has developed a strengths-based Positive Education wellbeing platform where every student is known, valued, and cared for within a culture of high expectations and academic rigor.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach 7-10 Geography, 11-12 Geography and approved and or willing to teach Stage 6 Business Services.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the Social Sciences faculty to design, implement and evaluate high-quality teaching and learning programs aligned with the new curricular, with a focus on innovative pedagogy, assessment practice, and continuous improvement.

  • Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and contribute to differentiated teaching to engage and maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.

  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to build positive and productive relationships with students, staff, and families to optimise student achievement of learning outcomes.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
