Your next career opportunity
As the Communications and Events Coordinator at the Melbourne Biodiversity Institute (MBI), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the institute's narrative and promoting vital biodiversity research. You'll coordinate and deliver impactful events, manage and update the institute's website, and develop engaging content across multiple platforms. You'll also drive social media strategies that connect important research with diverse audiences.
This role offers you the chance to contribute directly to environmental conservation efforts while honing your skills in event coordination, website management, and communications within a dynamic, interdisciplinary setting.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop Engaging Communications: Create compelling internal and external content, including newsletters, reports, and impact stories to showcase MBI's achievements.
Manage Impactful Events: Coordinate and deliver a range of workshops, seminars, and other events to promote MBI's work and foster collaboration.
Drive Social Media Strategies: Craft engaging social media content, monitor performance, and adapt strategies to maximise engagement and reach.
Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with researchers, faculty teams, and external stakeholders to promote biodiversity initiatives and research outcomes.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a proactive and creative communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, experience in event management and marketing, and a passion for working at the intersection of science, environmental conservation, and social impact.
You may also:
Possess strong experience in communications and marketing within a university or research setting.
Have demonstrated skills in event management and coordination.
Be proficient in website content management and social media strategy.
Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Demonstrate a keen interest in biodiversity and environmental conservation.
