About the Role

This role is responsible for ensuring the Superannuation Fund meets its regulatory reporting obligations and maintains robust investment data practices. The successful candidate will lead APRA reporting processes, support trustee investment activities, and collaborate across internal and external stakeholders to uphold high regulatory reporting and investment management standards.

Role Responsibilities

Regulatory reporting

  • Lead the end-to-end APRA reporting process including data mapping, validation, analysis, and submission.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update reporting frameworks accordingly.
  • Collaborate with auditors and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Implement scalable reporting frameworks and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Enhance data processes to create efficient outcomes for regulatory and commercial purposes.

Investment data

  • Compliance and operationalisation of the investment data framework for the fund.
  • Reviewing and recommending updates to Trustee policies and procedures, especially around investments and use of investment data.
  • Analysing investment governance related data and reporting and presenting to stakeholders.
  • Documenting and leading meetings with key stakeholders around investment data frameworks and investment data.

Data Transformation & Automation

  • Partner with Data Transformation and Middle Office teams to design and implement automated reporting solutions across APRA and investment domains.
  • Contribute to the development of data pipelines and dashboards that support regulatory and trustee reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and enhance data integrity through automation.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of the superannuation regulatory environment and key regulators (ASIC, APRA).
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • A passion for automating data and reporting capabilities utilising the latest technology solutions.
  • Advanced Excel and financial reporting tools proficiency.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities, willingness to accept autonomy and responsibility.
  • An ability to embrace, accommodate and implement change management initiatives both within Betashares and in collaboration with our external custodian and fund administrator.
  • Experience with the preparation and review of regulatory and investment data requirements within the superannuation industry.
  • A Bachelor of Business, Finance or other relevant degree.
