We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world-class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.
Join Seymour Whyte for the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Upgrade Project, a major civil infrastructure project being delivered as a joint venture with John Holland and focused on enhancing the rail transport network between Beerburrum and Nambour on the Sunshine Coast. The project is due for completion in 2027.
About the Project:
The B2N Upgrade once completed will improve the North Coast Line, making travel faster and better connecting the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and Brisbane. The project involves duplicating the North Coast Line, upgrading the Beerburrum Road and Steve Irwin Way intersection with a new overpass, expanding the park 'n' ride at Beerburrum Station, and replacing the Barrs Road level crossing with a new overpass.
It also involves closing two private crossings, replacing the Burgess Street bridge, and completing early works like new park 'n' ride facilities at Landsborough and Nambour Stations, along with a 1km realignment of Steve Irwin Way. This is a unique opportunity to work on a landmark project that will benefit both local communities and the broader Queensland region.
Why Join Seymour Whyte?
At Seymour Whyte, we are proud to be a leading Australian construction company with a track record of delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable projects across the country. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where you can grow your career and make a real impact.
About the role:
We have opportunities for experienced Site Engineer to join our operations teams on the Beerburrum to Nambour Upgrade project.

- Monitor construction quality and progress against method statements and ITPs to deliver works to required standards.
- Manage daily field operations, including team supervision, productivity tracking, cost control, and estimating support.
- Oversee procurement processes and subcontractor management, ensuring adherence to governance, authority limits, and verification of claims.
- Support project planning through programme development, reporting, and ongoing professional competency maintenance in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent, with experience in civil construction, preferably in an on-site environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), with the ability to develop and manage short-term production bar-charts and critical path networks (up to 100 activities).
- Solid understanding of safety legislation, Australian Standards, and industry codes.
- Knowledge of project scope management, including contractual change procedures and distribution of responsibilities among project stakeholders.
- Strong planning, monitoring, and reporting capabilities to support effective project delivery.
We offer a range of benefits and incentives:
- Competitive salary packages with performance-based incentives.
- Career development opportunities and access to professional training.
- Employee wellness programs, including health and fitness initiatives.
- Supportive team culture and a positive working environment where collaboration is key.
- Access to corporate discounts for various services and products.
- Opportunities to work on high-profile projects with a long-term future in the industry.
Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver's Licence and have their own transport.
Seymour Whyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including veterans.
