We are seeking a motivated Estimating Assistant to join our team. This junior role is ideal for a graduate or someone looking to kickstart their career in construction estimating. You'll be working closely with our Senior Estimator to provide essential support in tender preparation, subcontractor engagement, and project documentation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Senior Estimator.
- Assist with preparation and processing of tenders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Create and maintain tender and job templates in line with company standards.
- Request, follow up, and record subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Assist with reviewing and collating subcontractor quotes for comparison.
- Maintain an up-to-date subcontractor and supplier database.
- Manage and track tender documentation, drawings, and correspondence.
- Support with project cost breakdowns and schedules as required.
- Undertake other estimating-related tasks as directed.
About You
- Junior/Graduate level – no prior experience required (construction/estimating exposure a bonus).
- Studying or completed a tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar (desirable).
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach.
- Confident communicator (written and verbal).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Cubit/Buildsoft highly regarded.
- Motivated, eager to learn, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
